Challenge with Catalan museums
I
CALL 4: TO PROMOTE THE KNOWLEDGE AND DEVELOPMENT OF MUSEUM AUDIENCES
Goal of the challenge
The aim of this call is to find solutions that allow the automated collection of data from the public, facilitate the exploitation of this data and provide a better qualitative knowledge of these audiences.
Challenge's description
For some years now, a common and consensual audience counting model has been established for Catalan museums. However, the great diversity of institutions that manage them, as well as the difference in volumes of visitors and income, makes that each museum collects its data using different tools that the market puts at their disposal. This makes it difficult to integrate all this data into a single system that makes it easy to share. At the same time, museums with fewer resources do not find simple and inexpensive ticketing tools on the market that allow them to approach the knowledge of their audiences by adjusting them to their needs and museum management. Consequently they work with manual counts.
Therefore, this call opens up the following main lines of work. You do not have to address all of them to participate in the Challenge:
- To have a tool shared between all the museums for the management, collection and counting of the data and which allows the interoperability and facilitates the systematic exploitation of the information by the different agents that manage them.
- Support museums for public studies and public development plans.
- Link in real time the audience data obtained through the ticketing system with the most qualitative information obtained from comments and mentions on social networks.
