Awards:

• Call 1 best solution award: 15.000€ allocated to carry out a pilot together with Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya + present your solution in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023.
• Call 2 best solution award: 15.000€ allocated to carry out a pilot together with Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya + present your solution in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023.
• Call 3 best solution award: 15.000€ allocated to carry out a pilot together with Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya + present your solution in the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023.

What should I submit to participate?

To participate in the SmartCatalonia Challenge, a presentation must be prepared in slide and PDF format. The fundamental aspects of the proposal (technical aspects, usability, implementation, etc.), as well as the explanation of how the proposal meets the call’s needs, must be clearly stated in this document. Additionally, it must include an explanation of the company, a description of the proposal with a SWOT analysis and/or a risk map, and a brief approach of the proposed pilot. Optionally, participants can add other points of value that they consider appropriate for the correct evaluation of the jury. Once this presentation is developed, it should be submitted in a PDF format through the participation form found in this platform.

Evaluation criteria:

From all the eligible solutions, the members of the jury will select 9 finalists (3 per each call) who will present their solution at the final event of the competition. The criteria for evaluating the solutions by the jury is the following:

• Degree of adaptability to the proposed call.
• Degree of innovation and creativity of the solution.
• Degree of technical, economic and operational viability.

Calls:

• Call 1: Improve the study of the Catalan coastline using Earth observation technology.
• Call 2: Evaluation and control of the impact of disasters on agricultural production through Earth observation technology.
• Call 3: Monitoring and control of drought in pastures using Earth observation technology.
